The Quantitative Reasoning, Algebra, and Statistics and Reading sections are not timed and consist of 20 multiple choice questions each. The WritePlacer section consists of a 60 minute 300 - 600 word, timed essay in which a prompt is provided.

Minimum UWG Score Requirements

  • Quantitative Reasoning, Algebra, and Statistics:
    • 258 or higher for admissions
    • 266 or higher for learning support exemption.
  • Reading: 237 or higher
  • WritePlacer: 4 or higher

The Accuplacer App is a free web-based study app. It is to your benefit to review/study for the test so that you know what to expect and therefore do your best. Students have provided great feedback to our office after studying for the placement exams before testing.

Practice Exams

Accuplacer testing is currently being offered for non-traditional students required to take learning support who would like the opportunity to exempt it. Students who fall into this category will be advised during the course registration process about their options to exempt. Accuplacer in this case is optional. If a student does not meet the minimum Accuplacer score requirement, they will need to take learning support along with the assigned course (MATH 1001/MATH 0997, MATH 1111/MATH 0999, ENGL 1101/ENGL 0999). The Office of Admissions will provide information on if the Accuplacer is a necessary requirement for admission to UWG.

Examinees interested in taking the POST Accuplacer exam for employment purposes should first contact our office by emailing testwest@westga.edu to schedule an appointment.
